Fermented food and drinks
Fermentation of plants, fruits and berries into various types of beverages
In this workshop you learn how to ferment plants, berries and fruits into different types of beverages.
We learn about wild fermentation and fermentations with different types of start cultures. We learn how to make our own wild start culture from plants we find in nature.
Rita Amundsen
My fermentation “career” started in 2006 with lacto fermentation of vegetables, and a couple of years later I started to teach others how to do this. At that time hardly anyone in Norway knew what I was talking about and I knew just a little myself, but I have learned a lot and fermented all kinds of foods since then.
In June 2006 we did a “world record” in fermentation in Stephen Barstows garden In Malvik, when we put parts of 412 different types of plants into one jar. A couple of months later the jar was opened and it tasted fantastic. I still have a few glasses of this product in my fridge and I will take one little glass of this with me to the Permaculture festival.
